By Trace O’Connor

Trace O’Connor, from Greensboro, NC, works mostly with reclaimed metals at salvage yards, turning them into large outdoor sculptures.

Iscariot, made of galvanized steel, light poles, structural and welded pipe, won first place in the 23rd Rosen Outdoor Sculpture Competition & Exhibition (2009-2010) and after HarborArts went on to be displayed in Loveland, CO. In regard to the name of the piece, O’Connor said the reasoning behind it is “kind of a secret. I’ll tell you this. It’s personal, and it’s not biblical.”
